Happy New Year!

We’ve had a terrific first week of 2012.  We’ve started a new routine.  From 11-11:30 everyday, students will be working on skills at their level.  I have two Educational Support Paraprofessionals at that time that work with groups of students.  There is currently a reading group with Mrs. Wallner, an research project group with Mrs. Berg, and a fine motor, math, and reading group with Mrs. Carlson.   Ms. McAuley will continue planning for this routine throughout my maternity leave.

Here is the newsletter for next week. watermelon day

On Wednesday, a note went home about the Collections Project.  Students are bringing tagboard home for their projects today.  This document is the note which includes a picture of how to cut and fold your tagboard to make it stand up.  collectionsproject

In reading camp this week, some students created a performance containing OO words.  Here they are!

I will miss you all very much while I’m gone!  Check the blog out next week, I hope to post some pictures and information about the baby!  This week students completed a page for a baby book for the baby.  They wrote down what they think I should name the baby, and they wrote some parenting advice and big brother tips for Charlie.  It was a very entertaining read, and will be a great momento!
